Design 1909 Mabelle

Image Courtesy of Beken of Cowes

Five boats were built to this design between 1968 - 1970. Hull number 1, Mabelle, was built by Cantieri Sangermani of Italy. We have posted quite a few articles about Sangermani (search Sangermani in search field on home page of blog to see complete list).

The boat was designed for Two Ton Cup racing in Italy. She also rated well under R.O.R.C. and I would assume made a good offshore racer. She also has a nice interior and would make a good cruising boat.

Here are the plans for Mabelle.

The other boats of the group were slightly different, generally in their outboard profile/deck geometry. They were built in England, America and New Zealand.

Heres an inboard profile, general arrangement and sail plan for Border Viking, built at Latham & Son of Parkstone, England. You can see she has a different deckhouse.
