Design 917 Gal O Gallee


This auxiliary yawl was constructed by Palmer Johnson of Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin. She was launched in 1950. It is rumored that the boat was built on a time and materials basis due to the owners insistence on meticulous attention to detail. As such she took over a year to construct.

She is built with oak frames, keel and deadwood with Honduras mahogany planking and bronze fasteners. Somewhat unusually hull strapping is of stainless steel.
