Design 1828 Elske

These images dont do this beautiful yawl justice. Elske was constructed of wood as her bright finish attests by the Walsted Baadevaert of Denmark. She was launched in 1967. Elske is a rather heavy boat but was designed with emphasis on cruising comfort and seagoing ability. Her scantlings are conservative for example using teak for the keelson and deadwood, yet she has proven herself to be a fast boat.

Her lines were developed by the talented Germán Frers, Jr. during his brief time with S&S while her profile, interior arrangement and sail plans were developed by the equally talented Gerhard Gilgenast. Gilgenast had started at S&S in 1964 and Frers the following year. Each would go on to open their own design studios.

Here are the plans.
